public safety

Thermal and optical platforms for night surveillance, search and rescue, and emergency response.

How it works

Public safety buyers are buying a capability rather than a machine, and the platform is only half of it. A thermal camera without the right optics loses the operator the ability to identify what is in frame, and a fast platform without a stabilisation system produces footage that cannot be presented as evidence. We specify sensor resolution, frame rate, thermal sensitivity and the degree of optical stabilisation separately for each platform because those four numbers determine whether the unit is a reconnaissance aid or an evidence-grade instrument. Payload interchange matters too: the same airframe should be able to carry the thermal module during a night search and the visible zoom during a daytime traffic incident, because most public safety budgets will not fund two aircraft for one unit of responsibility.

What this solution covers

  • Sensor and optics specified separately
  • Evidence-grade stabilisation noted
  • Payload interchangeability
  • Night operation capability stated
  • Flight time under payload stated
