REACH / SVHC

REACH applies to articles, not only to chemicals sold as such, which is why it reaches into drone manufacturing: a flame retardant in a plastic housing or a plasticiser in a battery pouch can put the whole aircraft above the SVHC threshold. Buyers importing into the EU should ask for the SVHC declaration covering the airframe, the gimbal, the battery pack and the packaging foam, and should check that the declaration names the specific substances rather than making a general claim. Note that the SVHC list is updated several times a year, so a declaration older than twelve months may not reflect the current list.
