Overview

The HL-50 is built for resupply missions that conventional vehicles cannot reach, from mountain outpost resupply to offshore platforms and disaster relief. The 50 kg payload is carried on a quick-release hook at the belly, and an electric winch with 30 m of cable allows the load to be lowered gently instead of dropped, which protects fragile medical and food parcels. Eight motors arranged in a coaxial octa configuration give a genuine 50 percent power reserve, so the aircraft can still climb and hold position with one motor pair failed. The carbon-fibre frame and aluminium payload module keep empty weight at 52 kg, giving a maximum takeoff weight of 105 kg that sits inside the sub-150 kg class most authorities permit without a type certificate. Flight time is 32 minutes unloaded and 26 minutes at full payload, and the dual-battery arrangement allows an almost instant swap in the field.
